The School Resource Development Institute Concludes Year-Long Program
The School Resource Development Institute recently concluded its year-long program at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center today.
This was all about helping Hamilton County schools strengthen funding efforts.
Teams from three schools worked together to create strategic funding plans.
“It’s Woodmore Elementary, Redbank Middle School, and Ooltewah High School. One of our first sessions was determining what our priorities were and what we really wanted to focus on,” said Karen Hollis, Grants Coordinator. “Throughout the school year, we’ve taught them how to write grants, how to do effective fundraisers, how to pitch, and how to engage with the community and bring them into their schools. So today, we’re focusing on that last part.”
After an independent review, each school received a 10-thousand dollar grant.
