Starting Today: Chattanooga Shines with the SEA Light Festival
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) Starting February 20th, the Sealight Festival will light up the city with two full months of dazzling Chinese lanterns, jaw-dropping acrobatics, and unforgettable family fun!
Visitors can wander through glowing pathways, enjoy stunning light shows, and even interact with some of the installations, making this event more than just a show—it’s a journey.
“Take a walk to the park, where you’ll learn about the meanings of the different lanterns. After your walk, head inside the pavilion to watch the Z Acrobatic Troupe perform amazing circus acts, acrobatics, face-changing, juggling, and all kinds of balancing feats. It’s truly entertaining. There will also be booths highlighting the cultural aspects of the Sea Festival,” said Jay Heavilon, a member of the Board of Trustees for Sculpture Fields.
It may not seem like Chattanooga was not the most obvious location for this festival Montague Park made it stand out.
“Well, for us, as an international sculpture park, we’re all about embracing cultures from around the world. It’s a delight to host the Chinese Sea Festival, which is coming down from New York, and to showcase this part of the world that many people may not know much about,” says Jay.
