We’ve lost the Big Man. It’s hard to think of not hearing his bellow, his banging on the glass when JR cut him off, his needling, or his laughter on the Talk Monster anymore. JR readily admits he was 19% of the Village Idiots, though Wally would argue a minimum of 25%. Of course, given his lack of a voting block at Village Idiots Chamber of Commerce meetings (he never could wrest power from the president), he had a hard time upping that percentage. But weekends were never as good as they were in Weekend With The Witkowskis.
We hope you’ll share memories of Wally on-air with us and the community at 267-1023. Even more, we hope your prayers, thoughts and kindnesses will extend to Wally’s family. Daughter Katie, son Bill and wife Gaye were his entire world.
Wally Witkowski was a big man with a big heart and played a big role in this community and this radio station. He is and always will be sorely missed.
